8/1/2020 Superintendent Hill's IMPORTANT MESSAGE

Good afternoon.  On Wednesday (7/29) night, the Wadsworth City School District Board of Education held a special meeting to continue their discussion on planning for the 2020-2021 school year.  As they previously affirmed on July 13, they remain committed to offering the return of students to our school buildings for in-person learning for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.  For families that may not be comfortable with returning their child(ren) to our buildings, we are offering a virtual learning option called Wadsworth Wired.  As the pandemic situation continues to evolve, sometimes changing by the day, we are also planning for scenarios that involve all students in remote learning or in a hybrid model, in case either is needed during the school year.

While planning will continue, especially as it relates to implementation details in each building, we are at a point in time where we must ask families to make a commitment to either the in-person learning option or the virtual, Wadsworth Wired option so we can continue our preparations for the new school year.

To assist you with your decision, you can view slides on what to expect in each option and how we will determine if we need to transition to a back-up plan by clicking here.  If you are only interested in information on Wadsworth Wired, you can learn more about the expectations by here and you can review sample schedules by clicking here.

Finally, and most importantly, we ask that you complete a commitment form for each of your children.  You can access the form by clicking here.  The deadline to submit a form is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, August 8.  If you do not submit a form for your child we will plan on your child(ren) attending school in our buildings, unless we receive notification through homeschool or a records request from another school.

If you have any questions, please contact me at 330-335-1300 or at ahill@wadsworthschools.org. We will continue to provide you with updates each week until the new school year begins.
