Jill Stevens was elected to the Board of Education in November 2019 and re-elected in November 2023. She and her husband Dave have been residents of Wadsworth since 1992. They have three children that have graduated from Wadsworth City Schools. Amanda (2013, Miami 2017, Ashland MBA 2019), Megan (2016, Kent 2019, MBA 2022) and Adam (2020, Kent 2024). Jill grew up in a military family (this is her 34th house!), and that experience provided great perspective growing up. It also informed her desire to find the right community to join and raise a family, which she found in Wadsworth.
Jill has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Kent State. She is currently the National Customer Care Center leader at Westfield, where she has worked for the past 30 years. She has had the opportunity to participate in many leadership classes and is a graduate of YWCA Leadership Momentum program and was a 2018 YWCA Women of Achievement recipient. Jill has been an active volunteer in her workplace, schools, and the community. Jill was a 7-year board member for the Scholarship Foundation of Wadsworth, volunteers for Be My Eyes, Common Threads Closet, and the Akron food bank.
Mrs. Stevens said, “I am passionate about serving others and there is no better investment of that passion than education. A strong school system leads to a strong community and a strong community leads to a strong school system. I will work hard and be fully invested as a board member to support our teachers and staff and prepare our students for success.”
